The main features of ribbon thermal transfer are quick and convenient, and can provide clear and accurate marks for various products or services in time. Ribbons can be widely used in various types of materials. Thermal transfer refers to the printing technique of transferring the ink color of a ribbon onto a paper, film or the like by a combination of hot stamping. Just as important as a printer is the quality of the print ribbon. Ribbon is a high-tech professional coating material. Its quality is not only related to the quality of the printer, including clarity, adhesion and durability, but also closely related to the service life of the equipment, especially the expensive print head. Ribbons and ribbons of different materials and varieties have different applications for printing materials and printers. The basic components of the printer ribbon/ribbon include:
1) Thin and strong polyester or other high-density materials;
2) The undercoat layer on the front side of the base to ensure uniform ink color and complete transfer of ink color during printing;
3) a wax or resin based ink layer;
4) The outer coating on the ink layer protects the ink color and enhances the adhesion to the printed material when printing;
5) Base-based backcoat to protect against static electricity, heat and reduce friction to protect the printhead.
Adapted to different printed materials and durability requirements, the ribbon/carbon ribbon can be mainly divided into wax base, wax/resin mixed base, pure resin base and the like from the color base.
Wax-based ribbon: usually has high density, high sensitivity, paper label, excellent printing effect and cost-effective.
Hybrid base-ribbon: It combines high-quality printing and durability, with a wide range of applications and excellent price.
Resin-based ribbon: The most durable, abrasion-resistant, heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, some formulations can prevent steam pressure, and some can pass water or dry cleaning.
For the different methods of lithography and near-end printing, there are different types of ribbons depending on the main difference in ink color transfer speed during printing.
Depending on the printer type and label specifications, the ribbons/ribbons are available in different widths and lengths. In addition, in addition to the most commonly used black belts, a variety of color belts are also available.
