Barcode Ribbon is a consumable used in bar code printers. It is a polyester film coated with a wax-based, resin-based or mixed ink on one side, and a lubricant on the side without ink to prevent wear on the print head. The ink is transferred to the label by the heat and pressure of the bar code printer printhead.
Frequently encountered users will ask for some requirements, such as waterproof, oil-proof, alcohol-proof, scratch-resistant, etc., in the end how the ribbon.
First, the carbon ribbon of the coated paper is mainly wax-based, mixed-base, and then imported and domestically differentiated. Before printing, understand the composition and application of the two ribbons.
First, all wax-based ribbon
1. The all-wax ribbon has the characteristics of low cost, good printing effect, and no water droplets. Can be printed on the surface of printed materials; suitable for high speed printing.
2, not suitable for printing tear-off labels or washing water; although printed out, it is easy to be scraped off.
3, can print general copper plate label, clothing tag, price tag, outer box label, wristband label, certificate label, product label.
Second, mixed base ribbon
1. The semi-tree half-wax carbon belt has the characteristics of being scratch-resistant and wear-resistant compared to the all-wax carbon belt, but is inferior to the wear resistance of the all-resin ribbon. Can be printed inside the deeper printed material than the full wax ribbon. It works better on the torn label.
2, less suitable for printing on the unbreakable PET label; although it can be printed clearly, because the half-tree and half-wax ribbon still contains wax, the ingredients can only be printed on the surface of the label; therefore, the anti-scratch effect is not full resin carbon. The effect of the belt is good.
3, can be printed on the bright copper plate label, clothing tag, general copper plate label, outer box label, wrist strap label, shelf label.
Third, the effect test of ribbon printing
Mixed-based ribbon printing works best, especially for the brand's ribbon, scratch resistance should be: brand> domestic, mixed base> wax base.
After understanding the types of ribbons mentioned above, you need to know whether your machine uses internal or external carbon, whether the print head is flat or side-pressed, and the large or small core.
1) Internal carbon means that the side with the ink is in contact with the shaft on the ribbon, and the outer carbon means that the side without the ink is in contact with the shaft. A typical bar code printer can be used with both ribbons. Only individual printers can only use carbon ribbons with internal or external carbon.
2) The ribbon is also divided into a flat-press ribbon and a side-press ribbon from the printhead using the printer, which are suitable for flat-press printers and edge-press printers, respectively. The two ribbons cannot be mixed, otherwise it will affect the printing effect.
3) The ribbon core is divided into 1 inch and 0.5 inch. If the core is not right, it cannot be loaded on the machine for printing!
