CTS sports wagon with 3.6LV-6 dual-mode direct injection engine, can produce 304 horsepower (227 kW) power. Dual-mode direct injection technology helps CTS gain greater momentum while maintaining fuel economy and reducing emissions. The technology delivers fuel more accurately, improving combustion efficiency. This means less fuel consumption and lower emissions. Compared with the old 3.6L naturally aspirated engine, this engine can reduce hydrocarbon emissions at cold start by 25% while maintaining fuel economy. With this engine is fuel-efficient six-speed automated manual electronic transmission. Like the new CTS luxury sports sedan, the CTS wagon also offers all-wheel drive models for consumers to choose from.
The high-efficiency 2.9-liter turbo diesel engine (2.9Lturbo-dieselengine) will be assembled on the CTS model. This V-6 compact four-valve dual overhead cam engine from the all-purpose diesel engine family not only reduces emissions and noise, but also maximizes fuel economy. The engine is rated at 184 kW (250 horsepower). The CTS sport wagon, equipped with an efficient 2.9L turbo diesel engine, will be available in Europe in the second half of 2009 to meet the growing demand for this model in the European market.
